“Dancing With the Stars” WINNER!

Can KE dancewear pick’em… or Can we pick’em!
We new from the start that Amber Riley was Kicking Ass on Dancing with The Stars. We’ve seen enough ballroom competitions to know how to choose a winning gown and a winner and I guess America agreed.

Amber’s encore of her country western Freestyle dance, was an obvious choice to encore for the final show. When it debuted, it was the first time in Dancing with The Stars history, that the popular dance called “Step”, Read More

Let’s cut right to the chase: Amber Riley is Kicking Ass on Dancing with the Stars. Here’s an insider view on Parade.com from Amber’s experience:

Amber Riley rose to fame playing diva-in-training Mercedes Jones on Glee. Now, she’s taking her performing career to the next level as a contestant on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars! Alongside pro dancer Derek Hough, the show’s only four-time champion, Riley will put her cha-cha, jive, and samba skills to the test.

What’s the hardest part about being a pro on DWTS?

“Great question!! Being a part of Dancing with the Stars has been an amazing opportunity but it can certainly be challenging! Being a professional dancer takes a lot of discipline and commitment. You have to practice every day whether you’re tired, your feet hurt or you just don’t feel like it. But the rewards are worth it. You have increased energy and you make new friends. I’m so lucky that I love what I do.”

Creative Window Display + Fabric District

I just had to share the creative window display at Micheal Levine’s Fabric.  I was shopping for fabric in downtown Los Angeles for a custom Men’s Latin Shirt and had to stop and take a pic.  Notice the rhinestone button bustier.

Now, I get how they gave the perception of … “Off with her Head”.  Get a headless mannequin and set a head only mannequin next to it.  What I can’t figure out is how they got the face of the mannequin to have the same snootie-pa-tootie grimace on her face that you’d imagine a queen to have.

Hope you enjoyed this post.  I promise to be back soon with another.

Direct from ABC 7 News:

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — ABC’s hit show “Dancing With The Stars” is going through some changes next season, according to one of its champions, Cheryl Burke. She dropped by ABC7 to give Cheryl Jennings an exclusive update.

“‘Dancing’ is now only once a week,” Burke said. “It’s Monday nights, so basically Monday, you’ll see what you get on Tuesday, so entertainment will move to Monday and an elimination will happen that same night.”

Burke in town for two days, teaching classes at her Mountain View studio and working with her favorite charities. She and her mother are launching a nationwide web service soon to link dance teachers and students. Read More

PART I: Ballroom Dress Rental – Be A part of the process.

Follow KEdancewear.com to get all the updates as this dress evolves into a beautiful ballroom dance dress for rent.  Yes FOR RENT… can you stand it!

With the high cost of professional dancesport trainers and competition fees, not to mention travel & hotel cost, ballroom dancers have a lot to handle before they even step out onto the competition floor.  KE dancewear is developing a ballroom dance dress rental site to help ballroom dancers offset the high costs of ballroom dance competitions.  The site should debut some time in January 2014.

However, if you’re in need of a ballroom dress rental today, we will open the vault for you to rent early.  Keep in mind that many of our dresses have never been worn yet.  And, since we’re in the development stages, we may be able to collaborate on a design with you and instead of you buying your ballroom dress for $3500, you can rent it for only a fraction of the cost, often 10-20%.  That’s a huge savings and a benefit often unheard of!  If you’d like to inquire about what we have available for rent,  contact:  info@KEdancewear.com

Style it Up

Style it UpGoing Shopping Anyone?  I’m loving this ensemble.  Here’s a tip for all you ladies wanting to update your wardrobe.  When you go shopping, never go without an image in hand like this one.  It will keep you focused on the right pieces to buy and keep your closet in style making it that much easier to get dressed in the morning because everything in your closet will be fabulous.

So remember, to always have a styled image in hand when shopping.  After all, “fabulosity” is a full time job and how can you do it right without the proper tools.   Happy Shopping,  Until Next time darlings,  Karol

BASIC RUMBA by Franco Formica & Oxana Lebedew

Absolutely loving this Rumba routine by Franco Formica & Oxana Lebedew. Their smooth movements followed by sharp transitions flow like a romantic ballet. And what is great about the video is that they filmed it both from the man’s standing point and the women’s standing point to make it easier for you to learn. Great Educational Video. Two Thumbs Up!
